Myth
Why should I interfere with what a young person chooses to do with their life?

Reality
We intervene in young people's lives every day to ensure they have the best opportunities in life. We must balance their right to take risks and experiment with the need to support and protect them from harm.

 
 

 


Young People's Websites

Lifebytes
A website aimed at children between 11-14 years old, complementing Key Stage 3 activities in schools. Brightly coloured graphics are used to present the latest information concerning health topics, including alcohol, drugs and mental health.

Mind Body Soul
An interactive site for 11-14 year olds for facts on health in general.

The Site
A magazine style website for young people presenting a wide range of information, mixing fun and serious issues. Topics include drugs, health, the law, careers and money. There are also many opportunities to interact with the site.

Youth Information
A general information site for young people including a drug page, with detailed information about specific types of drug, both legal and illegal and a summary of Governmental strategy. The list is in alphabetical order.

Time 2 Talk
A free, confidential advice service for young people aged 13-25 offering information, drug and alcohol services and counselling & Sexual Health Services.

National Youth Agency
Works with young people on drug education through the youth and community services. Also produces 'Young People Now', which disseminates news on national and local initiatives in drug education.
